and that must surely be true of Joey, the littlest clown
of them all. At first glance, this illustration seems
to be a simple, crayon-like drawing. It doesn't take long
to recognize it's much more. Dramatic composition, unique
colors, depth of perspective, and an unexpected mix of
expressionist styles combine to reveal artist A. Raymond
Katz' ambitious intent, which was fully realized as an
enchanting work of art.
